Ramana’s Garden is a children’s refuge home and school. Ramana’s was founded by Prabhavati Dwabha for Indian and Nepalese children at risk of poverty and abuse. Approximately 70 kids live full time and more than 200 kids attend school here.
Children who are at risk of either being forced into prostitution, child labour, begging, starvation or total neglect otherwise take refuge here. Ramana’s gives them a loving home, family and education so they have the opportunity to become independent and functioning adults, securing themselves a good position in society.
This ashram was founded in 2007 by a couple, Yogirishi Vishvketu and Chetana Jessica, a Canadian woman. The ashram offers Akhanda Yoga and it incorporates balanced sequencing of asanas, pranayama, relaxation, mantra and meditation.
The parent organization, Akhanda Yoga Institute has around 15 yoga training staff and offers hundreds of online lessons.
Ramana’s provides education up to 8th grade. Some students get sponsored through scholarships to attend private schools up to 12th grade. After graduation from high school, the school also sponsors university/ trade-school education.
Ramana's currently sponsors more than 40 students pursing degrees in higher education across a variety of fields.
In India, cows are considered a sacred animal that should be protected and cared for. Abandoned, stray, and infertile cows are taken care in shelters which are called goshalas. This goshala is run by Uttaranchal Theerth Vikas Parishad. Around 200 cows are taken care here.
